The Regional Puzzle: How Economic Complexity Redefines Growth and Inequality in Indonesia This discussion will focus on sharing how to construct a data series for the Economic Complexity Index (ECI) for each province in Indonesia, using two main approaches: the export product and the sectoral workforce structure. The goal is to analyse how the complexity of each province’s economy influences economic growth and inequality. The discussion will explore the relationship between economic complexity and regional economic development disparities, highlighting potential policy implications.
